 Christian Marriage Problem

Contrary to what many may have perceived , the Christian beliefs and practices of many denominations hasn’t been enough to thwart the increase in divorce rate among the Christian communities.

This was shocking to me that even in a Pew report on divorce rates among various sects of Christianity, some Christians  had a significantly higher chance of going through a divorce than even atheists.

Perhaps like many other moral teachings that have had a profound effect on shaping society, premarital sex, abortion, gay marriage, married Christians were not immune from the social influences that dominate so much of our culture.

Sure, we can turn to the Bible and its teachings, however even Biblical interpretation and exegesis are influenced by personal opinions that determine what is moral and conforming to Gods will, and what is not and opposed to it.

What is Love in a Marriage

Even in non-Christian marriages, the meaning of Love and what it entails with regards to marriage comes front and center.  Fortunately the scriptures gives us numerous examples of what love is, what sacrifice is. Even if this type of love doesn’t explicitly state love in a marriage, the love that it does teach, and all the virtues that come with it are universal and pivotal to the success and happiness of a Christian marriage.

It’s wonderful to share the faith and love of God with a spouse.  There’s no better way to celebrate this unity between 2 loving souls than through marriage.    It’s a wonderful gift, a wonderful blessing when  its good fruits(a family) are born from this very special love between 2 persons and the loving God who created them.
